Sri Lanka Malleswara Wild Life Sanctuary, Near KADAPA town

Location : Sri Lanka Malleswara Wildlife Sanctuary is located 15kms from Kadapa town.

it covers an area of 464 sq km.

The rich flora and fauna adorns the place with more than 1400 plant species belonging to 176 families.
The main habitat of the rare and endangered species of bird called Jerdon's Courser, Lankamalleswaram is a verdant paradise with its thick tree cover, deep valleys, steep slopes and picturesque waterfalls adding to the scenic beauty of the place. Red Sanders, an endemic species of timber, grows in this area. 


To get a better glimpse of the abundant wildlife, watch towers have been built to provide nature lovers a spectacular view. 

The animals found here include Panther, Sloth Bear, Wild Board, Chital, Sambar, Chowsingha, Chinkara, Nilgai and Fox.

The best time to visit this sanctuary is from the month of October to March as there are fewer rains. April and May are very hot and June to September is the time when the rains are on its peak and can act as spoilsport to the adventure.


As the sanctuary is not very far from the town, you can stay in Kadapa, as there are good range of hotels and lodges. You can also stay in the forest rest house at Siddavatam and Kadapa.
